This is a list of the brands we use not only to get The Cure sound, but also gear that we rely on to work every night on tour. We need to reproduce signature sounds from the last 30 years of The Cure's back catalogue. It's a tall order if you are travelling the world in a splitter bus with a stage crew of 'one'.
Brands you see here have been road-tested and stood up to the rigours of being thrown in the back of tour buses and made it into our backline purely because over 21 years they have become part of our touring rig. Our video backdrop is created in Final Cut and runs from an Apple at live shows.
Gary has had many problems with his voice and used to lose it often
on tour. Now Gary uses Brett Manning's course as part of his daily routine and has online lessons with Brett himself.
Gary warms up his voice before every show and has both sets of exercises on his iPOD so he can hit Robert Smith's high notes with ease.

A superbly kitted out splitter
bus with TV, fridge, surround and games system complete with a freindly helpful driver for less than most splitter companies charge for daily hire alone.
We use a lot of accoustic guitar in live shows. These strings are unbelievable in tone and stay crisp for ages.
